In searching and wresting with what this blog is, what I want this slice of internet to be, I know … Continue reading Present //
When life gets crazy or exciting or overwhelming or things change, I write. It’s always been this way for me. And so as an extension of this, I am going to have a weekly, “here’s a little bit of life”, post. From working in college ministry to life as a part time nanny. Date nights and soccer games on the weekends. Reading and drinking coffee and squeezing in a run. Just taking a moment to look back at what the week has brought me before plunging into that all so wonderful weekend!
It’s been a cleansing week. With my work schedule being lighter then I expected it to be, I have had time to tackle some life things. I have this elusive extra room at my house that has been sitting unused and so has accumulated things. Having lived here for over two years now, it’s a bit embarrassing. As someone who loves the feeling of knowing I could put everything I own into my car and be on my way, this just doesn’t fit. So I am getting rid of some serious stuff. Organizing paperwork and having a place for every little thing that I must keep and getting the rest out of the house and out of my life. It is incredibly therapeutic and so freeing. This post was started many weeks ago and has been a work in progress since.
Maybe it’s because I’ve gotten more sleep in the last few days then I have in the last few weeks. Maybe it’s because Continue reading “Late Night Notes // Life of a Night Owl”

I’ve put together a list of a few little things that I look forward to when I come home. Some of these things seem small, but most of you travelers will Continue reading “The Joys in Returning”
It’s that time of the year. And if your weekends have looked anything like mine, they’ve been all about graduations and celebrating and inspiring speeches and new chapters. How exciting!
Now I know I may not be the most Continue reading “Because Everyone is Graduating”
It’s been a sweet year. Full of the absolutely, completely, unexpected. I wrote, I traveled, I worked, and looking back on all of it is leaving me amazed and truly grateful.
Here’s a look back at the writing, travel, and a little life that occurred throughout 2015.
Have you ever been bogged down by your dreams? It sounds so contrary to all the motivational quotes and the whimsicality that goes with the term dream, but I think it can happen. Moments where you want so badly to pursue that thing, but being frustrated in knowing that it’s just not time yet. It can be tiring. It can make you all out want to give up, or at least wish you had a more “down to earth” dream.
But that is not the definition of a dream. Continue reading “Dreaming Big and What’s Next”
