About

“We are torn between nostalgia for the familiar and an urge for the foreign and strange. As often as not, we are homesick most for the places we have never known.”

I believe in taking the scenic route. I believe in solo travel. I believe in knowing where we came from. I believe in prayer. I believe in the importance of healthy intake. I believe in drinking lots of water. I believe a run is a great way to start a good day and an even better way to end a bad one. I believe in hand written notes. I believe in more reading time and less screen time. I believe in going without a plan. I believe in getting to know the locals. I believe in grace through faith. I believe in packing light and going far. I believe in going. I believe in wandering. I believe in wondering.

My name is Lucy. I am a twenty-something born and raised in Texas who wants to see the world. I love the life that comes from traveling. I don’t have any specific stipulations for where I’ll go. I want to see it all. From the smallest, one horse town to the largest metropolis. Distantly Present is where I share the story, the adventure, the life. All in hopes that just one person will be inspired to go for themselves.
