Having a quiet time on the side of a mountain is one of the most beneficial things I have ever done in my life. I had no idea what a sweet time this was going to be as I wondered away from the group and found a grassy spot to sit.
As I sat down with Bible and notebook, I didn’t even begin to realize the beauty of what was about to happen. I looked out over miles on miles of mountains and the sun beat down on me in the most perfect way. These moments are what make life important. This is what we need to cherish to the fullest.
Nature is such an amazing way our Creator communicates with us. To sit in such an incredibly beautiful place and spend time with the Designer and Creator who spoke it into being. To meditate on the reality that this Creator also knows me intimately and loves me perfectly. That is the kind of thing that makes you feel incredibly small and fantastically valued all at once.
I believe we all need to have more moments like this. This is what’s it about people. Travel, memories, life. These moments when we get to know ourself, when we feel whole. And when we feel like we found something we’ve been missing. These are the still small moments that we miss if we don’t slow down and savor them.
