When life gets crazy or exciting or overwhelming or things change, I write. It’s always been this way for me. And so as an extension of this, I am going to have a weekly, “here’s a little bit of life”, post. From working in college ministry to life as a part time nanny. Date nights and soccer games on the weekends. Reading and drinking coffee and squeezing in a run. Just taking a moment to look back at what the week has brought me before plunging into that all so wonderful weekend!
This week has been all about Christmas! between work events and Christmas celebrations with friends, I am ringing in the Christmas season in full force! Also because, this time next week I will be in central Florida for the wedding of my dear friend.
The Denton Historic Homes Tour was so, so great! I loved wandering through so many old homes and hearing stories about the original owners from the current owners. This city makes history a priority, and it shows in events like this one. The tour included six different homes with a range of size and style. I was busy seeing myself living in each and every one and imagining the rooms filled with visiting family for the holidays. Being that this tour was at Christmastime was an added treat. Seeing trees dripping in old-fashioned tinsel and lovely banisters draeped with garland. Large wreaths on front doors and nativity scenes on mantles. It was magical! There is talk of doing another tour in the Spring, and you better believe I will be in attendance! Not to mention, I have a few homes in mind that I would love to see on the itinerary this time around.
Dog Mom Life
I am just a little bit already not okay with the idea of leaving Zoe for the weekend. We talked about taking her along for the trip, and I think she would be great. But this trip is already going to be a crazy whirlwind and I want to be fully attentive to the bride and the wedding. So instead, I may have done something I’m not altogether proud of, but you know, it’s done. So I purchased a puppy cam. Not only will it be nice for trips, but it will be nice to have when I am working long days to help me time when to stop by and give her a quick run around outside. For those of you interested, this is the cam I went with.
“It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.”
In between Christmas celebrating, this weekend I will be prepping for the upcoming 15 hour road trip and getting everything (mostly) set to go since it will be a short, but very full work week of meetings and pre-Christmas hustle.
