A Week at a Time | 12/2/16

When life gets crazy or exciting or overwhelming or things change, I write. It’s always been this way for me. And so as an extension of this, I am going to have a weekly, “here’s a little bit of life”, post. From working in college ministry to life as a part time nanny. Date nights and soccer games on the weekends. Reading and drinking coffee and squeezing in a run. Just taking a moment to look back at what the week has brought me before plunging into that all so wonderful weekend!

Back to that college ministry work grind before the Christmas break. We have one last event where we are talking about what is happening around the world, and promoting our annual trip to Austria next summer. So it’s just a few more busy weeks before settling into the goodness of Christmas time.

Explore Local

I mentioned #shopsmall in last week’s recap, which is essentially Denton’s spin on Small Business Saturday. One of my favorite things about Denton is how much they promote local, small business. Really cool sites like Only in Denton, The Dime Store, and Discover Denton exist to promote local artist, brands, and happenings in little d. So I was really excited to take part in #shopsmall and take a day to wander downtown Denton and stop in some of my favorite shops. Also, we have a plethora of fantastic local coffee shops, and I enjoy that too!

Looks

I am currently swooning over Daniel Wellington watches. Seriously, I want one of each size and color. So many of my favorite fashion bloggers keep posting fantastic things about this company, and their advertising is working! I love the minimal design and the versatility of styling options. So easy to dress up or down! Now it’s just a matter of deciding which one I’m going to get…

Words

“When you’re worried and you can’t sleep, count your blessings instead of sheep. And you’ll fall asleep counting your blessings.” -White Christmas

Speaking of loving my town, tomorrow I am taking part in the Historic Homes Tour and I am so excited I can’t hardly wait! As someone who loves history and architecture and turn of the century houses, this is everything I love.
