A Week at a Time | 11/25/16

When life gets crazy or exciting or overwhelming or things change, I write. It’s always been this way for me. And so as an extension of this, I am going to have a weekly, “here’s a little bit of life”, post. From working in college ministry to life as a part time nanny. Date nights and soccer games on the weekends. Reading and drinking coffee and squeezing in a run. Just taking a moment to look back at what the week has brought me before plunging into that all so wonderful weekend!

Who shopping the day away today? I may just do a bit of online shopping… But crowds of people with overloaded arms /carts of merchandise is not my thing. Instead, I am enjoying the day off with plenty of lounging and macarons. All ready for the weekend, but before that, here’s a little re-cap of the week!

Breaking in those new running shoes (which, by the way, don’t require much breaking in at all) with a pre-Thanksgiving run. I have enjoyed participating in the Dallas Turkey Trot the last few years, but with all the family plans this year, we decided to bow out. So instead, after work on Wednesday, we took Zoe out for a run. She did great! And I am really loving that Chaco leash.

Zoe got an invite to Thanksgiving this year. Which made the entire day that much easier for me (no running back and forth and feeling like a bad dog Mom while she was home alone). She is such a social dog and loved being with everyone every moment of the day.

I love macarons. And my niece pointed out to me that she had never had a macaron. So we fixed that. Went on a little outing to JOY Macarons and got a pretty good sampling. Not to mention, we took full advantage of plenty of photo opps and a bit of exploring.

“Here’s to fresh coffee, sunshine, morning walks, blooming flowers, good books and all the other simple but glorious pleasures of life”

This weekend will include some #shopsmall time in little d. Excited for stops at my favorite coffee shops and small businesses to get a start on some Christmas shopping.
