A Week at a Time | 11/25/16

When life gets crazy or exciting or overwhelming or things change, I write. It’s always been this way for me. And so as an extension of this, I am going to have a weekly, “here’s a little bit of life”, post. From working in college ministry to life as a part time nanny. Date nights and soccer games on the weekends. Reading and drinking coffee and squeezing in a run. Just taking a moment to look back at what the week has brought me before plunging into that all so wonderful weekend!

Who shopping the day away today? I may just do a bit of online shopping… But crowds of people with overloaded arms /carts of merchandise is not my thing. Instead, I am enjoying the day off with plenty of lounging and macarons. All ready for the weekend, but before that, here’s a little re-cap of the week! It’s been a cleansing week. With my work schedule being lighter then I expected it to be, I have had time to tackle some life things. I have this elusive extra room at my house that has been sitting unused and so has accumulated things. Having lived here for over two years now, it’s a bit embarrassing. As someone who loves the feeling of knowing I could put everything I own into my car and be on my way, this just doesn’t fit. So I am getting rid of some serious stuff. Organizing paperwork and having a place for every little thing that I must keep and getting the rest out of the house and out of my life. It is incredibly therapeutic and so freeing. This has been a week of wondering. Making pro/con lists, weighing the options, trying to figure out the outcome of potential decisions. I am reminded that I do not know the future. I never have. It’s okay to take time to make decisions, to ask wiser people for advice, but ultimately, the decision is mine. That is equally freeing and overwhelming. This week started with my Dad taking a trip to the emergency room with a stroke. And so my week consisted of cutting back to minimal hours at work and spending all my time at the hospital. So grateful that, as strokes go, it was minor. Still waiting for answers as to why this happened, but praying for grace to rest even if we don’t get answers. It’s been a week of hard conversations, but also so much sweet laughter and conversations with family. So thankful to every person who sent their love and who came out to visit. We really are blessed to be surrounded by such dear people.  Continue reading “A Week at a Time | 11/4/16”
