A Proper Visit to Lady Liberty

While I loved riding the Staten Island Ferry and catching views of the Statue of Liberty and that iconic NYC skyline, a proper visit to Liberty Island and Ellis Island were on the must do list this visit. I was grateful for a beautiful morning with plenty of blue skies and sunshine to take in this iconic piece of history.

Since I don’t often seek out the tourist-y things, when I do, I try my best to figure out how to avoid the crowds. We purchased tickets online ahead of time for one of the first ferry’s out on a Monday morning. This helped with waiting time, and meant Liberty Island was much less crowded. I booked our outing through Statue of Liberty Tickets and opted for the Liberty Island and Ellis Island combo ticket.
